Why is Taekwondo so popular? Because it's the BEST!

Welcome message from The Taekwondo Network

Okay, now I have your attention, when I say Tae Kwon Do is the best martial art, I admit I'm a bit prejudiced. TKD is my martial art of choice and the martial art I hold a black belt in. But please believe me when I say in all sincerity, I know there are many, many superb martial arts out there. I'm just partial to mine, and...

It is incredibly popular. There are many reasons for the growing popularity of this Korean martial art including the fairly recent Olympic sparring events featuring WTF tkd sparring. The surge in popularity the sport of TKD has received because of inclusion to the Olympics as a medal sport has something to do with its popularity.

But popularity only takes you so far if you don't have the character to back it up and...

Tae kwon do has character

taekwondo for families Since TKD is the most popular martial art in the world, isn't it time there was an online network where you can learn, teach and grow with artists from around the world?

Did I say artists?

Yes, because TKD is a martial art and a way of life.
This is a confusing notion to those who are not familiar with the martial arts. But keep in mind that--Taekwondo is more than just being able to kick, punch and yell effectively.

It's a family activity that adds to a healthy lifestyle for men, women and kids. Martial arts is one of the few activities that can be started at any age and any skill level.

If you already share my passion for a martial art that promotes self improvement, healthy eating habits, physical fitness and so much more, then stick around because you're definitely in the right place.

TKD has a long, rich history among the Korean people. It is a martial art whose history was nearly lost, but thanks to dedicated Masters, it survived to become the entity it is today. There are many aspects of TKD that beginners need more information about. And even experts need to brush up from time to time. The TKD Network is the place to come when you need that information.
