Joong-gun hyung 5th kup in the ITF StyleJoong GunFrom Joong-gun to Forms Page JOONG-GUN is named after the patriot Ahn Joong Gun who assassinated Hirobumi Ito, the first Japanese resident-general of Korea. Hirobumi was known to have been the leader of the Korea-Japan merger. There are 32 movements in this pattern to represent Mr. Ahn's age when he was executed in prison in (1910). Joong gun is the sixth of 24 International Taekwondo Federation hyungs. Some find it difficult to accept the philosophical aspect of tae kwon do forms. But if you stretch your imagination, it adds a deeper component to your training. Many of the ITF hyung are connected to historical events and people in Korean history.
