Palgwe poomse contain the contradictory concepts of yang-um (yin-yang in Chinese). The idea that everything has an opposite, hot--cold, light--dark, sky--earth, man--woman, good--evil and so on. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. These opposites meet and depart from each other according to the rules of the universe. Palgwe poomse is taught to the colored belt student. Palgwe forms introduce students to taekwondo technique and the philosophy of the supreme ultimate. Two opposing forces in perfect balance bringing harmony to the universe.
