Palgwe forms Yook Jang illustrated tae kwon do forms

Yook Jang | Palgwe

Of the WTF Palgwe forms yook jang poomse is the shortest of the 8 forms that make up the pal gwe book.

Palgwe poomse contain the contradictory concepts of um-yang (yin-yang in Chinese). The concept that everything has an opposite, light--dark, heaven--earth, man--woman, fire--water, hot--cold and so on. This precept is the basis of the I Ching.

These opposites meet and leave each other according to the rules of the universe.

Palgwe poomse are beginner forms taught at the colored belt level.

They serve to introduce students to tae kwon do techniques. Then continue to teach the philosophy of the attraction of opposites. Two opposing forces in perfect balance bringing harmony and control to the universe.
